Hi.. this topic is to share ur views and discuss options available for pursuing petroleum field as a career (highly valuable in canada). Options available as per my findings are as follows:

A) Masters:
1) Dalhousie uni. M.Eng
2) Memorial uni. M.Eng/MASc.
3) uni. of calgary M.Eng/Ms.
4) Uni. of regina M.Eng/MASc

B) Bachelors
1) SAIT polytechnic - Alberta

C) Diploma
1) NAIT-- alberta
2) SAIT--Alberta

All these courses are highly valuable and has got good prospects in canada. Only difference is the level of study. It is also observed that diploma guys are getting jobs easily and quickly as compared to masters...

I invite u all to take this discussion further with ur valuable inputs. And also discuss any other options that i have missed out in the list..

U can choose to do whatever u want buddy. Its upto u what u want frm ur life. BTW what's ur current status? All u need is a proper justification for ur chosen course. I have seen people from various backgrounds like chemical, environmental, instrumentation, comp. sci, mechanical, electrical etc going for petroleum post their bachelors. so, nothing harm doing that u see.
