What kind of a permit does a child under the age of 5 need for Canada when the parent has a work visa allowing that child to come to Canada?

On the CIC website all I can find is "•Pre-school/Kindergarten: no study permit required" and
"•No study permit is required to attend pre-school or kindergarten"

So if they don't require a study permit what documents are needed?

Thank you,
Katie

A visitor visa & passport if the child isn't visa-exempt. If the child is visa-exempt, a passport.

I would also bring a copy of the birth certificate. If both biological parents aren't with the child, I would bring copies of a custody agreement/order, letter acknowledging the child will be in Canada, adoption papers if applicable, or death certificate if the other parent is deceased.
