Perminant Resident Card Problem (please help)

I'm from the UK and my mum lives in Toronto with her husband and worked hard to sponser me and she managed to get me a Perminant Resident card a few years ago. I was never really sure if I wanted to go and I know I had 2 years within 5 to live in Canada to extend the visa.

Trouble is that this year I'm still unsure and my card expires in June 2021 and I haven't lived in Canada for 730 days, which means I'd need to leave by June this year so my card doesn't expire while I'm within the country of Canada. The Canadian website says I can renew my card and still be a perminant resident if my card expires however surely I won't be able to do this unless I've lived within the country for 730 days.

All I'm asking is that I don't want to leave as soon as this year in June and wondered if there's any way to extend my card when I visit my mum next month for a couple of weeks or am I doomed?

There's no way to extend.

If you aren't ready to move to Canada now to meet the residency obligation - then you can try later. There's a chance this might work out and there's a chance it might not. Let's say you decide to move in June 2020. When you enter Canada, you won't meet the residency requirement but your PR card will still be valid. It's quite possible you may be allowed in without issue - in which case you'll want to remain in Canada for 2 years straight to be able to renew your PR card and keep your PR status. There's also a possibility that you may be reported at the border for failing to meet the residency obligation. If that happens, you'll be called to a hearing and should expect to formally lose your PR status and be ordered to leave.

Ah bugger, I know it'll take a lot of paper work on my mums side to reapply for me and might not even be worth it. I don't want to go this soon but I don't not want to go at all. Ugh what a pain, I really wish there was a way to extend it and have more time.

Note that your mother can only sponsor you again if you are under 22. Once you are 22 or older - you would need to qualify on your own.

Ah I'm 25 now, I have to move there this year or be forever going through paper work on my own...
Maybe I'll just stay in the UK at this rate regretably.
