Hello,

Just wondering, I remember before I went over here in Canada we had a seminar regarding life in Canada in general and all the do's and don'ts. And i remember the lady telling us that Permanent Resident Status does not allow you to enter Quebec. Is there any truth to this? Do you have to be a Canadian Citizen to enter there?

Because me and my friends are planning to go there for vacation and I don't know what to tell them. Some of my co-workers say that you basically just drive through Quebec, no borders or anything so I don't see why I can't just go there.

Any information would be of great help. Seems like a lot of people get a lot of helpful answers here so i thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks on advance.

You probably misunderstood her. Without a CSQ you can't "land" in Quebec. Once you "land" in Canada, you can move/travel to wherever you wish.

There is nothing to stop you from taking a vacation in Quebec. They are more than welcoming. There is a "border" as there is between all provinces, but the only obvious indication that you crossed the border is a sign saying "Bienvenue à Québec" (Welcome to Quebec).

The only thing that's different about Quebec, immigration-wise, is that the Quebec government gets to approve (or deny) anyone coming directly from another country to live and work in Quebec. So, merely getting approval from the federal government is not good enough if you're coming directly to Quebec.
