Can somebody help me, can I quit my job now? I am currently working at DQ for a year now, I signed a 2 year contract before I started the job. I am now a Permanent Resident holder.

You should certainly be able to quit. However since you say you signed a 2 year contract, you should check to see what the terms of that contract were before you actually quit. Since this is a fast food restaurant, there shouldn't be any issues quitting.

What does your contract say regarding resignations?

There's nothing specified in my contract im regards to resignation..It stated on the duration of Contract that: This contract shall have duration of Permanent Full Time for an indeterminate period.

I can't see how you quitting is going to create problems for your PR status. This sounds like empty threats from your employer.

If you want to be 100% sure, then get a consult with an immigration lawyer.

Did you get points for this position with a LMIA and the employer stated you would have a job one year past PR?

I do not know the circumstances or the programme you were accepted under. But worth taking to a lawyer for an additional reason - if the employer is threatening without basis, a nasty warning letter from a lawyer has a good chance of scaring them off.

I just got an invitation to apply for PR which I’ve submitted all documentation and made payments please what’s d next step pay
