I am still going to apply for restoration of status. I am nervous that if I leave and try to return they won’t let me back into the country with my fiance. However I am still considering it.

So is there basically no way to currently get legal status for myself besides leaving and re entering ???

Good Day.
I just want to ask, If you need to update your family status to common law partner eventhough your already in the Canada and had a Visa as Open work Permit?
Pls. Help and Thank you.

Yes there is!!! If you decide to apply for ROS and it is approved. If you can afford $200 and feel that is a better option, do it ASAP!

I suppose that it is possible that if your ROS application is denied, you could be told that you must leave Canada. For that reason alone leaving and returning may be the best option (and cheaper).

Hi again!
So grateful for all the reply’s from you! So I’ve decided to do the ROS application. I have a question about it.
Under personal details #7 on IMM5708, what should I put for the date I intend to be in Canada until? Since my current visitor visa expired and I will be waiting for this to process as well as my permanent resident application.

Hi again!
I submitted my ROS and am working on re submitting my Permanent resident application. Is a police certificate required for this ?

I am trying to sign the imm5532 document and docu sign keeps saying this -Error uploading imm5532!!.pdf: Dynamic XFA documents are not supported. Does anyone know how I can successfully sign this document. Adobe acrobat wont work as well and it is saying, "unsupported document".

Hi ,

I was wondering while I wait for my Outland permanent resident application to process, am I able to apply for an OWP?

Hi ,

I was wondering while I wait for my Outland permanent resident application to process, am I able to apply for an OWP?

No. Only available to inland applicants.

Okay. So then I’d have to wait until I get permanent residency to apply for an OWP?

No. Once you are a permanent resident, no work permit is required to work. So yes, you need to wait until you are a PR to work - but no OWP is required.

My common law partner got his notice of assessment and income statement that is required for the proof of support section in the sponsor-permanent resident application. His taxes weren’t done at the time we submitted it so we explained our situation. However now that we have these documents , is there a way I can submit them to ircc ??

Hi there ,

Am I able to opt out of getting x rays for my medical examination for permanent residency? I am very sensitive to radiation and don’t feel comfortable getting x rays.
