Hi, I applied way back in 2007 and was looking over some of my old paperwork. I noticed that I paid the RPRF of $490 and something called Perm Res/Dep of 22 years which was $550. Can anyone let me know if I needed to pay the $550 fee? I guess I had to at the time but as I was the sole applicant, I can't figure it out. If I should not have paid this, am I due a refund? Just to let you know, I was unable to take up permanent residency in the end as my mother is ill.

Yes - you would have paid that fee. It's required as part of the process.

Based on your earlier posts, you landed and obtained your PR card. If that's the case, you are owed no refund.

Thanks for clarifying. I only asked because I stumbled across something about refunds on fees from around 2006. This must have pre-dated my application.

Browsing the fees section again, if I had to reapply from scratch at a later date, would I be paying a similar amount again or just $490?
