Hi,

I am currently studying under an 8-month program at Niagara College. I'm entering the last term which will end in August 2018. I have decided to apply for another program which starts on Winter 2019. Now here is my concern: If I apply for this, that means I would have to extend my visa but this also means I won't be studying from September to December. I am aware of their 120-days work permit exemption but is this going to hurt my eligibility for Permanent Residency?

I'm just seriously concerned about my current and future status which will evidently have a huge impact when I apply for Express entry. I would appreciate your response, thank you!

I don't see how this will hurt your eligibility.

However be aware that you cannot work at all between the time you finish your first program and start your second.

Actually scylla there is a new rule as of March where people can work between programs if it is less than 150 days between the programs (not exactly sure what counts as the last day of 1st program), you must be already accepted to the 2nd program and you also have to have applied for an study permit extension.

Yes you should be fine. I would apply for the 2nd program in advance, apply for an extension and follow the instructions to notify CIC online that you are switching colleges.

That's good to hear. Too late for many PGWP refusals unfortunately...
