I am just wondering - they've shortened the processing period, making 6 months the longest (?) wait time. On the forum, I've seen threads from people who were waiting longer. But is there another side to this? Does anyone get their PR earlier than 6 months? If you know someone like this, please share :)

Hello,

as per CIC, they complete 80% of the applications in less than 6 months. Some people are chosen for a security screening and might end up taking longer for the PR.

Most of the FSW people i know have got their PR within 100 days of their AOR.

PNP on the other hand takes slightly longer and the average sits at about 150-160 days.

Nishant.

6 months is the normal or average procesisng time, but some could take longer than this, up to 1 or 2 years.

Yes, I know someone from this forum who got the PPR in 19 days. On the tracker, there were cases that were processed within 10 days (not sure if those were real or bogus entries).

Depends on which visa office you case is processed in. If you are unlucky enough to be sent to London you can expect 6-8 month average processing time!

Today is my 6th month mark and I'm still here stuck with London office. Had in mind that I will be in Canada by now when I first applied...Every application gets treated differently. Where you from and which office your at will play a major part

Wow! Congratulations! Do you have any tips on sending the most complete application so that it processes so fast? :)
Thanks a lot! i think there is nothing you can do instead of providing CIC with all the required documents. in my case i didn't do anything special other than submitting all the required and supporting documents upfront. I didn't have any criminal or travel history either, I just made sure i don't miss anything which can delay my process. To be honest i think it all depends on your VO and luck, if you go to immitracker you can see some people got their PPR in less than a month time. One of the CEC applicant form France got his PPR in just 16 Days from AOR.

16 days?! Unbelievable! I have quite the extensive travel history (47 trips in 10 years) so perhaps it is going to be a longer process for me, but I'm trying to give them every ounce of information that I can :)

Thanks for the input, and all the best with your travels and landing in Canada!
