Is my wife required to apply for her PR Card at her POE into Canada?
After reading all of the requirements on the CIC website it seems that it is not a trivial matter.
She needs to have a photo copy of her passport with stamp from Canada, a copy of a two more pieces of ID, two photo graphs. etc. etc. and she needs to make payment. How can she do all this at the POE? Will they have a photocopy machine available to make a copy of her passport and page with Canadian stamp? Will there be a computer available for her to go online and make payment? Does she need to bring the photographs with her or will they take photos there?

Thanks for your help.

She has to go through a long process and paperwork. Unfortunately, it's not done at a POE until the very end. The application and all it entails is mailed to CPC- Missisauga to start.

www.cic.gc.ca is the place you should start at. Read all the guides thoroughly as they walk you through most of what you need to do and this site is also good for questions as well. The fees however, can be paid online.

You've misunderstood the question. OP is asking if the permanent resident card applications needs to be completed at the POE (at landing). The OP has already submitted an application for PR itself.

The answer is no. This application is for PR card renewals only. There is no PR card application that must be completed at the POE when landing.

Ahh, I figured I'd throw it out there as I have heard people say that they are applying for a PR card when they are actually submitting the application, period. Sorry for the confusion.
