Hi guys,
Is the RPRF something I should pay upfront? Does it reflect poorly on me if I don't? If I don't pay it now, when can I pay it?
Thanks for your help :)

CIC will Request you to pay later if your file don't have any problem.:)

Awesome, thanks! So can I use the fact that I am being asked to pay the fee later as proof that my application is being accepted, or does it not work that way?

Receiving a request to pay the RPRF does not necessarily mean your application is going to be approved. It is a requisite step in the process. However, you can withhold the RPRF now and pay it when requested and probably get an idea of how your application is being processed and the timeline.

RPRF fee - you can pay it upfront when you submit your post ITA application along with application fee ... if you dont pay it upfront there is no negative impact of it but after certain verification (processing) CIC will send you a request to pay your RPRF fee; and then you can pay and upload the receipt.

There is two ways to look at it ... Not Paying RPRF upfront - you will get a request later, that means you have successfully cleared few levels of verification by cic and now they are asking you to pay the RPRF fee but at the same time it will delay your processing by few weeks as you will get a request then you will pay it and again cic agent will pick your case which will definitely takes few weeks ....

paying RPRF fee upfront or afterwards is totally candidates call ...
hope this helps ...thanks

This does too! I actually would not have had any issues paying the fee right now, but my credit card has a monthly limit of USD500, so i don't think I would be able to, even if I wanted to. So I have to split up the payment, I guess.
At least now I know that it's not an issue to do so! :)

Are there examples when the application was rejected after RPRF?

I haven't heard of any. I'd like to know as well!

Yes, there were several in the past. They had to get their fee payments refunded, which takes about 30 days after the application was rejected.

So why ask them to pay if they'r not getting PR? Very strange!
I can understand if they pay upfront and are refused, but asking them to pay in the middle and then refusing them is a bit funny

I don't think so. Many of those who were rejected and had their RPRF refunded actually paid their RPRF fee upfront along with their application fee. Suffice to state that " it is not common for cic to reject your application after rprf request; although not impossible."
