Hello everyone,

The Quebec government launched new requirements for the Quebec Experience Program on July 22, 2020. They also put down a series of transitional measures.

Transitional Measure
  • International students who have obtained a diploma qualified for the PEQ or will obtain it by Dec. 31, 2020, may lodge an application under the requirement that existed before July 22, 2020.
I have obtained a DEP and AVS diploma (1800h) in February, 2020. And 10 months of full-time work experience so far.

Everything is going smoothly, except for my French. Which is VERY BAD! Therefore, I'm thinking about stop working full-time and focusing solely on French. In order to get a B2 DELF.

I will applying for PEQ on Jan, 2023. I wonder if I still be eligible under the grandfather clause?

Thank you!

As long as your PGWP lasts till then, the answer is yes. I applied in January 2021 under this clause. So the updated work experience requirements did not apply in my case. However, you might have to be employed at the time of application, I'm not sure if that was an existing requirement, or added after July 2020.
