Whenever the topic of conjugal partner sponsorship comes up, people also say that it is very hard to get. So I wanted to ask if anyone has ever been approved as a "conjugal partner" sponsorship, and if so, what was your situation that made that possible?

There are very few situations where a couple can't get married or live together. From what I've seen:

The applicant lives in the Philippines and is married to someone else. Divorce and adultery are both illegal in the Philippines, so the applicant cannot marry or live with their current partner there. If the applicant is refused a TRV, they cannot live with their partner in Canada either.

The applicant is gay, lives in a country where homosexuality is illegal and is unable to get a TRV to Canada. They can't live together in Canada or the home country and getting married in a different country could put the applicant at risk of arrest/prosecution/jail in their home country.
