Please renew your passport.

As your passport will expire in May 2014, then you again have to transfer study permit on a new passport. So, its better if you do it now in order to avoid hiccups later.

You have enough time for the renewal as you are targeting Jan 2014.

Even if you apply now, the high commission will stamp visa closer to the start date of your program and your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from that date. Jan to May it only makes 4 months, so best way going forward would be to renew your passport.

The problem is that I am not in my home country and to renew will take about 3-4 months process i am really confuse i dont know what to do.. If i dont will it give d V.O reason for visa denial?

I think not that it will be a reason of refusal. But you will get visa or study permit for less time due to less validity.

You have to renew your passport as it will surely put some negative effect on your file. You have enough time to apply so do it right away. Even if you are not in your home country then you can apply it wherever you are. Just look for your home country conslate over there and state them the reason to renew.
