Hi,

Just received my PCC in Dubai. But its in Arabic. On checking with them, they say the requested certificate can only be issued in Arabic. In the sense that when I input, Immigration and Citizenship Canada as the body for whom I need the certificate, it can only be issued in Arabic.

Kindly help

I just had her on the phone just now. Shes saying its only Arabic. Which souded strange - so kind off lost now

Do you live in the UAE? If so, request the PCC from the Dubai Police website and choose English as the language.

You can address it to "Government of Canada", it's not mandatory to mention Citizenship & Immigration.

with whom did you speak?

Try to call Dubai Police call centre and request them to send you one in English.

I am a resident here but a citizen of India. Requested it from the Dubai Police website. Chose English as the language.

But that was their response

Try calling the Dubai Police number. Mine had a spelling error, phoned them and they got it sorted.

Your only other option I suppose is to reapply mentioning "Government of Canada" instead.

thats BS... i applied for one a few months back, its in english.

did you apply online or in person ? just apply online, its called good conduct certificate, pay the fees i think its 220, and goto nearest police station with emireates ID... they will send PCC via email in 1-2 days max

Dont complicate it. The amount of time you will waste applying online, it is easier to drive up to the Police HQ and get it!

This is what I did. Follow it to T and you shall get your Dubai PCC with no hassle.

1 - Go the Dubai Police HQ first thing in the morning. This is near Al Mulla Plaza near the metro station.
2 - Be there at 7:55 am on any week day.
3 - Office opens at 8 am
4 - Be the first to pick up a token.
5 - Get called in 5 min max since no one else there.
6 - Show your emirates ID and tell them the reason why you need PCC.
7 - Pay the fees.
8 - They will tell you that your PCC will come as a soft copy the same day or maximum next day.
9 - I got my PCC soft copy by 2pm in my email same day.
10 - Dubai Police PCC is soft copy and soft copy is accepted by CIC. The certficate is in English.
11 - I have now passed my R10 and so it works very well.

The whole thing took 10 minutes. Don't waste time with phone calls, online etc etc.

Simple. Yalla!

My experience was much worse at the police station. The police man insisted on typing the "addressed to" field himself and ended up writing it completely wrong. I only found out when I got my soft copy. Had to call them and ask for it to be fixed.

Maybe you got unlucky with the person attending to you. I know two more people who did the same as me and got it sorted without any hassle in 10 min. Go first thing in the morning since there is hardly anyone at the police station at 8 am in the morning and it is all very peaceful.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Indian PCC from BLS ... It is a nightmare like any Indian government office........!!

Fortunately, I had a pleasant experience with both my UAE and Indian PCC. The UAE PCC was delivered the same day while Indian PCC took a few days, but the process was seamless.

Please call again 2 -3 times in case you are not receiving it. simple thing you say - I applied for English certificate.

Best option is use call back option from Dubai police call centre on Dubai police mobile app.
  • I applied for the certificate through DP Mobile App and opted for English option.
  • Went to Jumeirah Police station to show the EIDA.
  • Received certificate via email within 2 days I guess
  • Upon receipt of certificate, I realized that there was a spelling error in my father's name along with my name that made me to re-apply.
  • But I saw a call back option on Mobile App (on top left corner on the app under Good conduct certificate I guess, dont remember exactly)
  • Applied for call back option on Mobile App.
  • Received call back the very next day where I requested the agent to resend the correct certificate
  • She said that she will send it to the relevant department to send the updated one after higher authority approval.
  • I did not receive the certificate in next 1-2 days, then again opted for call back option and thankfully the same lady answered who knew my case (I assume this number is managed by one person only).
  • she assured me that I will receive the certificate max by next day.
  • Next day her assurance worked and I received the certificate.
Try if this may help..All the Best!
