PCC in INDIA

Hi all,

I am currently living and working in Karnataka, India. Where my passport address is in Tamil Nadu. When I submit the PCC document do I need to change my passport address to Karnataka and then apply. Or could I apply from Tamil Nadu itself as CIC demands PCC specific to country not according to specific states in India

Please clarify.

You can apply for PCC from Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Tamil Nadu.
You can check with PSK in Banglore office and see if they provide you PCC based on your Tamil Nadu address mentioned in Passport.

Last year, many applicants were rejected as they obtained PCC from local police stations which is geography and time bound (i.e. it has address and time period mentioned).
However, the PCC provide by PSK and Indian Embassies aborad have a standard format which is not bound by geography and time.
Hence, kindly obtain your Indian PCC from PSK.
There has been a lot of debate on this topic earlier and it has been concluded that PCC from PSK is the best thing.

It clarifies my doubt- I am planning to apply from Tamil Nadu itself rather than Karnataka- as Passport offices share centralized data and information. Hope it wouldn't be a problem. My wife : who is included in the application has a Karnataka address and can apply from PSK Bangalore.

Yes, you can do it this way to obtain the PCCs faster. You can apply it from TN and your spouse can apply for it from Bangalore.
Since you are already in Karnataka, then check with PSK there if they can provide you PCC along with your spouse first.

Sure Sushsmart, will check that! I noticed that when we do PCC application online in passport india website, there is a place which says 'is your current address different from the passport address' so it gave some document list to take along like bank statements, aadhaar card etc

I will also call and check!!

Hi linksarran did it work for you ? I'm in same situation ..my passport and current address are different and I've got my PCC from passport address which is home town .. is it fine ?
