PCC from Indian Consulate (Houston) or any in USA

Hello, I would like to know if any one who have applied for PCC in houston or any other in USA recently. Will they hold the passport till the PCC is issued after submitting in person. Any experience is really appreciated thank you much!

i got mine from SFO consulate. yes they keep the passport with them. I sent mine through courier.
time line: documents reached 29th April
returned back with PCC: 16th May.

depends what your local consulate needs.. they must have listed all the requirements on their website.
for my case i did all things notarized as it was needed...

Did anyone here apply for PCC at Chicago consulate in the last couple months?
If so, can you please provide your timelines?

I can provide my 2 cents for the NY consulate. If your passport is re-issued in New York, then you get the PCC the same day in person and also just in $14 or so. Otherwise it takes 14-21 days. Guys from the embassy actually call your cell number to let you know that PCC is received.

I applied to Chicago in-person.

Applied in Chicago & they called after 2-3 days that PCC is ready to be picked up

I went to pick in morning, paid remaining fees, they kept my passport and returned it same day in the afternoon with the PCC

I sent mine through mail to them, so hoping that would be under a month.
Will update accordingly.
