PCC from India Current Processing Time

Hi,

I am applying for PR in Oct ,and planning to apply for PCC from India in November as I have to go to India for vacation in October ,so my question is what is current processing time in BLS Canada..on their website it says 4-6 weeks.

Also in some of the threads on this forum i read its taking 3-4 months ,did anyone got PCC thru BLS Canada recently ?

What was processing time?

Can i get from India as I will be in India for 3 weeks for Vacation?

I had applied for India PCC from BLS in Toronto. I had submit the passport to them. I received the PCC in a week's time. They had couriered the passport to my address.

Thanks for the reply ,2 weeks and 1 week time sounds encouraging but is there any reason that for some people it was taking 4 months earlier this year.

Is it bcoz of the city where you stay in India or what?

Probably for Metro cities its taking less time ,for 2nd and 3rd tier cities its taking more time ..not sure .........

I am sure there is a reason why they said 4-6 weeks . Better to be prepared to wait for that. Mine was from Mumbai.

Its all depends.. If the passport is issued under Tatkal scheme then be prepared to wait for a longer time. I submitted my passport to BLS brampton in May 2013. Till today Sep 2013 the status shows as "processing at consular general of India". When i went to CGI and cheked they mentioned that they have sent police verification request to SSP jharkhand and they have not got any response. When I checked at SSP jharkhand their they are saying they have not received any request like this to their office. So still keeping my fingures crossed to get the PCC. :'(

It took about 4 months for me to get the PCC. The consulate sent the verification request to local police in India and that delayed the process. My wife's PCC arrived in about a months time since no request was sent to police in India. Both of our passports (when we renewed) were issued outside India at the same location and at around the same time. So there is really no pattern, I would suggest be better prepared for a worse case scenario!

Can you help me How to track the PCC application

I put Walkin application in submission type coz i applied at the BLS canada office, then i put passport application in application type then reference number then DOB the security code

Whenever I tried to track my PCC application which I applied of Feb 27, 2014- It keeps saying "Kindly Enter Valid Security Code"

Finally i withdraw my application from the consulate since i had to travel to india. I went to india and applied for PCC and got the police verfication done and got updated the verification records to my passport files. It took allmost 20days. Since i had to come back to canada so i didn't took the PCC from india. after coming back to canada i applied for PCC in BLS brampton. finally i got my PCC in 4 weeks.

My learning here is if the police verification is updated in the passport details then you can get the PCC within 4-6 weeks from consulate general of inida. In general if the passport is issued under Tatkal scheme then police verification record is not updated in the passport detail and Consulate general initiate the verification process which takes longer time to get the response back from india.

they say 4-6 weeks on website...dont apply too early...i did same mistake...thinking of that it will take 4-6 weeks i applied few months before and i got it in 5 days...so by the time it was time to apply for PR it was 3 months old...and i had to apply again....

I applied for my pcc on 22nd sept through BLS-Vancouver. The status is still under process with consulate.
I scheduled a trip to India on 17th of Oct. Can i withdraw and get back my passport? Anyone knows whats the process to withdraw? Say if I go to consulate and withdraw on 16th Oct, will i get back my passport same day?
Please suggest.
