Dear All:

does ORIGINAL PCC need to be authenticated / attested by any authority? or the ORIGINAL PCC is enough?

by authentication i mean, the ORIGIANL PCC to be attested (at the back side of PCC) by respective country's (where the application lived and got PCC from there) appropirate authority (like foreign or state ministry) and canadian embassry of respective country.

Thanks.

No, if the original PCC is issued on a letter head of the Police department of the country with an office seal on it, there is no need of attestation or authentication. But if it is not in English or French you need to get it translated as per CIC's direction.

agree

thanks to both.

no because it's the fingerprints cards that needs to be authenticated and that card/form is required for them to issue PCC.

I'm looking for answer and confirmation for this. Does birth certificate and police certificate need to be authenticated if my wife is from Venezuela? Some of my wife's family members are leaving the country to live in Argentina and Peru. They were able to get all their documents and authenticated in less than a month.

My wife and I are struggling to even get either of those documents. Right now the website to book an appointment to authenticate or legalize the documents is always saying "no appointments today, try again tomorrow"
