Hello Guys,

I did apply my PR application under CEC and received AOR in time (April 2014). I did my internship in Japan in year 2010. For which I stayed there for exactly 5 months and 28 days. I did not submit PCC for the same. My lawyer raised a flag at that time but than he said that we can get it if CIC ask for it.

I did talk to Japanese embassy in India and they said it might take more than 2 months to get PCC. Which is roughly more than 60 days (CEC give time to collect document). I am planning to apply for PCC for Japan these week. But embassy said that they will need 'Request letter from Respective Authority'. Which I don't have yet. :(

Questions
1. Do you guys think that CIC will ask for PCC for Japan even if its less than 6 months on Paper. ???
2. How can I get 'Request letter from CIC' for the PCC application.. ???

Thanks in Advance

2. How can I get 'Request letter from CIC' for the PCC application.. ??? You you can't , If they ask you PCC from Japan also and As you said 60 days they will provide you to submit document , which may not enough to get the Japan PCC. That time simply write an explanation letter (only in that case if you can't get in 60 days) with valid evidence i.e. letter form Japan embassy/or waiting time showing in their website . CIC consider this condition

Thanks in Advance

Hi

My opinion for what it is worth, having had to get PCC’s from China and the UAE the advice I was given very early in the process was to obtain the documents after I had received my AOR.
Personally I do not think it is worth the risk of not obtaining because you are a couple of days short of 6 months.

Although the rules do say 6 months CIC have the right to request a PCC for any country you have spent a significant amount of time in. As an example in China I never stayed longer than 90 days in anyone visit but a PCC was requested because I have completed multiple visits.

Just my opinion.

Thx

Well I am going to Consulate General Japan this weekend to Apply.. There is no harm in Applying anyway.. The Letter you mentioned will work along with AOR email which I have. Also few more documents like passport(s).

I have to to there personally Mumbai/Delhi which is in my case almost 8 hours drive or 6 hours train journey. My attorney mentioned that in travel declaration form we have to mention only months and not dates so VO might think its 6 months. Attorney will reply saying that its not fully 6 months. After that if still VO needs it we send once Japan gives us

I will apply it anyhow.. Getting it will not cost me much .. While on other hand its better to Apply now rather than delaying process. :)

Thanks for your answers guys

Hi Stcanada,

I'm very new to this process. I have already applied for FSW 14' in july and waiting for PER email and transfer to NewDelhi local office.
Since the Dilemma is same for me i.e. NDVO provides 2 months to submit PCC and Japan takes more then 2 months 2 provide.
So what should i do in that case?

More importantly, as per my knowledge, Japan ask the evidence that i really need the PCC. So i think we cannot ask Japan to provide the same before New delhi(canadian) office ask me.

What should be the best way to obtain it?

P.S - (Canada officers might be knowing it already that Japan takes more then 2 months to provide PCC. So do canada officers provide any flexibility here?)
