Is there some other faster way out? Please reply...

You can go PCC from commissioner office. That is faster and you can still use that for your case. Which state you are residing and is your passport issued from same state? How old is your passport?

No worries Mr. Gupta. Go to the Delhi police commissioner office and check with them. You should be able to get the pcc done under 10 days.

Commissioner's office can get it done in a week as well... I guess, Delhi being a metro and people in the North being crazier about EE than down south, hence the long wait... All in all, it should've taken at max 10 working days ie two weeks...

Thank you for replying. I appreciate it.
I have applied for PCC on Delhi Police website. They say there that I will get the PCC in my inbox within 7 days. Now, Will it suffice or do I need to visit Commissioner's office?

I strongly recommend you to visit commissioner office and clearly explain them that you need PCC for Canadian Immigration Purpose. I doubt the PCC you applied for may not be applicable for Immigration. Once you will apply you will have Police Verification from your local police station at home and then after it should be issued to you.

Please check this website and go through the PCC section. I would be thankful to you if you can share your thoughts on this.

I have gone through the website and downloaded and read the information. But the sample PCC says "This certificate is only valid for employment purpose". I doubt that CIC may ask for a different PCC for immigration purpose. So, I would still recommend you to visit the Delhi Commissioner office and clear the doubt.

thank you for replying.

There are two types of PCC : Immigration and Employment. We can apply whatever we need it for. There are two options when one applies online. Also, Yesterday, the Police personnel came to my address just like he did when I applied for passport. The PCC will have a unique number to it.

Is there any particular format that CIC looks for in a PCC?

No idea about the format Anuj... Did they say how long would they take to give you the finished file..??

Thank you for replying Bhullar28.

They have told me I will get the signed letter in my mail within a week. What file are you talking about?

By File, I meant the finished stuff from their side.... One of my friends is facing a similar problem, wherein, police personnel are delaying the signing in order to make some extra cash...
