quick question

on the website cic.gc.ca to pay the sponsor fees

which one do we select - basically my Canadian wife is sponsoring me -- just double checking with you guys

is it the family class

Sponsorship application (per application) $75

Principal applicant $475

Right of Permanent Residence Fee $490

total $1040

Family Class (spouse or common-law partner, parents, grandparents, adopted children and other member of family)
Quebec Skilled Workers
Provincial Nominee
Protected Person in Canada
Live-in Caregiver
Humanitarian and Compassionate
Spouse and Common-Law Partner in Canada Class
Permit Holder’s Class
Canadian Experience Class

thanks

yes please select the family class and the total amount is 1040 CAD, you can pay the RPRF later and the VISA officer will request payment when your VISA is ready at the end but this can bring a delay, so you better pay everything upfront, to speed up things.

quick question:
in my case after the my interview i was requested to have my spouse pay the right of permanent residence of 490$ so that means they are ready to issue my visa soon? we paid it 2 weeks ago and sent them the recipe

yes - normally they request the payment of the RPRF when they are almost ready to issue the visa. But it takes time for then to get the payment - it's done to Mississauga, and even if you send the VO a copy of the receipt, I think they wait to have the confirmation from Mississauga that the money has been paid, so it can take 2 to 3 weeks - that's why it's best to pay the RPRF up-front whenever possible.

Nitzan900: That means your file was reviewed by an IO. Since Right of Permanent Residence Fees was not paid, your spouse was asked to pay. If everything else is okay in your file, you will most likely hear about the decision on your application after next review and after CIC gets confirmation that fees have been paid.

Your receipt is your confirmation of payment. If you mailed the receipt to CIC by courier or with a tracking number then contact your courier or postal service to find out delivery date of package. There is no system online or otherwise to check if CIC received it or not.
