So the official website seems to be broken, and I don't know exactly who to make this cheque out to. I'm extending a temporary resident visa and this is all that's preventing me from sending it in.

I mean I wish I could send in my papers without paying the fee but that's not gonna fly. :P

Payments should be made out to the Receiver General for Canada.

I assume you know a regular cheque won't be accepted. It has to be certified.

Actually I didn't know that. Especially since the website can't tell me anything, heh. I guess they changed that since last year?

CIC's website is down? Well it isn't right now:

I didn't say it was down, I said it was broken. I was trying to use the dropdown menu here and it doesn't work:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp?cat=Temporary%20Residence

Had a friend try it too, and it didn't work for him either.

Ugh and I just realized something as well. My husband's work took him so long to get proof of his up-to-date income that I'm now about a week late getting my extension in. As in it's expired a week. Am I paying the $200 to get my status restored or is it still $100 for an extension since it's been less than 90 days?

Well it isn't broken either, you were just in the wrong page (wrong version).... ;D

Broken, down, unavailable, it is all the same for this purpose. Use the one I provided.

Do I pay the $100 or $200 though? As I said my visa expired since my husband's work took way too long to get that to him. It expired on the 14th so it's under 90 days. I just need this answered and I can mail in my papers.

You can't extend something already expired. So your only option is to restore your status.

Alright. I just realized... do I have to send in a different form then? I used IMM 5708 for the changing conditions/extend my stay. I that can't be used I guess it's another trip down to a printing place for us since we don't have a printer. Ugh.

So pissed right now! We had no idea my husband's work would take over a month to get back to us. Last time we sent in an income request they got back in a matter of days.

Ugh sorry I'm just about to blow a gasket here. I'm so ready to be done with all of this.

Use the tool to see which forms apply: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/eligibility.asp

(I think it is the same form but better make sure).

Whew yeah they're the same. I read on a lawyer's site they'd be the same but I wanted to double-check.
