So I am applying for the spouse sponsorship visa, it will first be processed in canada, then in sydney.

The question is:
Can I pay separately???? both my credit cards have a limit of 1000 and it costs 1040 , can i pay for the sponsor fee first, print out the receipt, then pay for the principle applicant and print out the receipt then include both receipts in the application?

yes - that's probably OK. the important is that CIC sees that you have paid everything, and with the 2 receipts they will be able to match with the records. Just include an explanation why you did that, and it should be fine.
Or - try and talk to your bank and see if they can lift the limit ( or increase it) for one day, they might be able ( and willing) to do that considering the type of payment.
Good luck,
Sweden

I've never done that, so I can't really answer, sorry... :(. But if I were the CIC, I wouldn't have a problem, as long as the amounts from both receipts add up to $1040. Make sure to write an explanation as to why you provide 2 receipts though.

But you know what? Before you even do that at all, why not do this: call your bank right now (usually Canadian banks have 24/7 customer service...I know mine does) and ask whether you can just transfer $40 from your checking account to your credit card account using your online banking, and ask whether doing that will allow you to pay $1040 despite the $1000 limit.

So please let us know what your bank said.....the information might be useful for others... ;)

Yes you can use your different cards to pay the fees as long as you are paying the correct fees...I paid two different Demand Drafts with my application and I had no problem...Good luck

Thanks for your responses! I am slightly confused as it asks if you are "APPLYING at an office outside, or Inside......"
Im applying to canada first then its sent to sydney so i assume i am applying inside? is that right?

very carefull if you are in canada and living in canada and you dont have a removal or deportation order on you then you apply INSIDE, if you are living outside of canada and you are going to be deported from canada then you apply OUTSIDE.

Sorry i worded that wrong i just meant paying the fees it asks you where you are applying my application is getting processed OUTSIDE canada but the first step will be processed INSIDE canada, So now im really confused haha cause it appears that you can only pay online if your visa is getting fully processed inside canada.... please tell me im wrong!!

am guessing you are applying for outside canada, your file will go through two stages 1. it will be processed in canada to make sure that your sponsor who lives in canada is eligible to sponsor then when that is done they will sent it to your visa office overseas. now payment is all the same online for both inside or outside on the website, if there is a problem paying online then you get yourself a bankdraft. the payment information is provided to you on the website.

you have to fill it out yourself, all cic want to know is you paid for it

Where did you got that online draft ? I have same problem I only have Visa debit card and it is refusing. And paying through financial institute I have to order the form and it can take 2 weeks to be send to my home. So I am surprised how you got it ? Please help it is urgent

thanks

I paid using my Canadian Visa card, I just tranferred money online to it and then it let me exceed my normal limit of 1000.
As for the receipt i had no issues with it? is that what you meant by online draft?
