Hi. So I've been accepted to Memorial University for the Fall term for an undergrad degree. My parents have decided to basically pay for everything that was on the info sheet that came with the acceptance letter, i.e. tuition and housing for the year aswell as other costs. (about $20000)

So I'm just wondering, has anybody ever paid for everything before applying and if so was the visa granted? My parents thinking is that by paying everything it'll show the visa officer a real commitment to studying hence making the application stronger rather than just parking money in an account for months on end.

Thanks!

Hi,

Obviously it will be a boon for your application.
But it doesn't ensure visa success.

Good Luck.

Nowadays everyone is going through the same thing. All visas are getting delayed. There is nothing anyone can do. You would just have to sit tight and wait. Thats all that we are doing. All the Best!!

I think that you can try contact the South African Embassy/High Commision as last I checked they're responsible for Southern Africa visas. I applied in Zimbabwe in late June and got the medical email after 3 weeks.

Hope that helps!

Don't worry, from what I've heard, as long as you have good bank statements that show steady income for four months and the final closing balance is able to cover your 1 year costs you should be fine :)
