hello every one
just a quick question
is there any country that it's passport is not accept for PR by the cic
i mean i heard some people saying that some countries are not accept thier passports to be stamped any visa by cic {PR.SWV.TRV etc}
is that true?

I believe most countries are switching to machine readable passports due to high security issues and if CIC knows that the country they are processing you from has made that switch from the hand written/stamped passport to machine readable, they will request you apply for the machine readable passport before they issue your visa.

In my case, my country has made that switch and to make things easier on my end, I went and applied for the new machine readable passport which looks so much nicer than the old, picture pasted one, so when CIC asks it is already there.

Hope this helps.

i tried to search in the forums but gt nothing
is there any country that its passport is not accept PR or any other visa by the cic?
come on guys we need your opinion
thanks in advance

I found this about passports but it does not say anything about machine readable or specific countries

If your application is successful, the Canadian visa office will ask you to submit your passports. You and your family members must have valid passports in order to receive your visas. Diplomatic, official or similar passports cannot be used to immigrate to Canada. You must have ordinary (non-official) passports when you arrive. The validity of your visas cannot exceed the validity of your passports. The Canadian visa office may request that your passports be renewed prior to submission.

any one alse with a different opinion

I think everyone has tried their best providing you with answers. If you still need better and more compelling answers/reason then I suggest you contact the Canadian High Commission closest to you and hear what they have to say.

because a friend of mine is planing to apply PR for her husband of 4 years
but his home country doesn't have a proper goverment in years almost 2 decades
i meant it's like a failed state
so they need to know inthe first place whether a passport a computerized one {not the old fashioned passports } from his home country is acceptable or not
he's from east africa

Whichever one the country issues and is most updated, in this case, non-machine readable passports.. then CIC will accept it. I am certain that country still issues some sort of travel document to leave.
