Passport submission for SOWP from India

Hi all, I have applied for Spouse open work permit for my wife on 24 may 2014 via online application . My wife's medical showing passed n updated on 3 August . Till today there is no update . My lawyer advcing me to courier her passport to embassy directly, although we have not received any pass port request from them . Kindly guide what action should take . Either courier passport to embassy or wait for passport request fromembassy
