Passport Stamping timeline for COPR

My Passport has been received by VFS Delhi on 28th May 2026 and its 30th June today and still status is showing under process at IRCC. Whats the timeline? How to check if something is wrong? Its for COPR

Please can anyone guide me what should be done. The file was applied by an advocate through my husband who is PR. Advocate is not responding and my account credentials are with him. How can I check the reason for this delay.

This is fairly normal processing time. If you haven’t heard anything by the end of July I would contact IRCC

I received an IRCC doc today through my husband stating application for permanent residence has been re-opened and dont send the passport . Letter was dated 8th july 2026. He is not sharing any other details with me. What can be the possible reasons for reopening in the middle of stamping process. My passport is still at IRCC and VFS is showing under process since 28th May 2026. How can I know whats happening?

There could be several reasons why the file was reopened. For example:

• It may be related to background or security checks.
• A dependent may have been added to the application.
• IRCC may have identified a procedural error.
• IRCC may have received new information that was not disclosed earlier in the application.
• IRCC may require additional information from the principal applicant (PA) or the spouse.

If your husband is an authorized representative on your file, he can contact the IRCC Support Centre. They may be able to provide some insight into why the file was reopened.

However, please ask your husband to share the complete letter, as IRCC would typically provide the reason for reopening the file in the correspondence.

As mentioned above, there could be a few reasons. But the sponsor can withdraw sponsorship at any time before a permanent visa is issued. Ask your husband or advocate for more details. If they don't provide many details, you can order GCMS notes. These notes can provide more details about your file and why the passport request was pulled.
