Do you guys know how long it takes to get your passport back once you send it to get a visa? I sent mine to Seattle.
Also, can i go to any boarder for port of entry?
I live in Edmonton

Mine was sent to Detroit (via the Windsor dropbox). Got it back in 10 days with the visa stamped.

Yes, you can enter at any port. Flight, road or ship. Keep in mind, this is a one time entry after which you should not (ideally) leave the country (although you have officially landed) until you get your PR Card (60-65 days). Your PR Visa that is stamped in your PP that you sent to Seattle is valid for about 6 months, so plan your landing date properly (and chose off peak hours, like early morning, I landed at around 7.30am). Also, if you wish to go to your country of origin and return, you should do so, because you are exempt for duty on a number of items.

I submitted my passport to the Seattle office as well. I sent it overnight express on Nov 28, they received it Nov 29. They processed on Dec 6, and posted it back to me via Priority Mail on Dec 11, I received the package on Dec 13. You can probably expect a similar turnaround, but with added mail time for Canada (and possible holiday mail volume.

You may use any border you like for port of entry.

Hey,

MSP2YYZ i just had a question. How do you know when they processed it and the date they sent ur passport back?
I wanted to check the status of my passport too.

I knew they processed it on Dec 6, because my ECAS changed from "Application Received" to "Decision Made, the office will contact you concerning this decision." The postmark on the Priority Mail envelope that I sent them was Dec 11, and I got in on the morning of Dec 13.

Hey Julie ,

I remember you were not able to see your application status online , did you got any luck with that before getting your ppr ? as you know i am in same boat i cant see my status anywhere.

Hey, i called the call center and told them i couldn't access ecas so they gave me the email address to there help desk..or whatever its called. So, they emailed me back with in couple of days..and after that i was able to access ecas. Can you access your ecas?

Thanks Julie , no i still cannot access my ecas ...could you please send me the email address so that i can ask them to fix mine . also what info do i need to send them in the email ?

Cheers
