Passport request, what happens if I submit it late?

Hi all,

CIC have requested an updated passport, since my current passport expires May 2016. They've requested it within 30-days, but I've yet to renew it since I was just travelling abroad.

I have already filled out an online application with the UK Passport Office, but they quote a turn-around time of ~4 weeks, so it may be that I receive my new passport after the 30-day window.

What might happen if I submit my new passport scan late to CIC? I understand that my application might be delayed, but I just want to be sure that it won't be altogether cancelled?

email them and mentioned you expect the passport 4 weeks from now and if possible, attach some proof that you did apply for a new one.
Something similar happened to me. They asked for PCC within 60 days and processing times were 4 months. I emailed them showing it takes 4 months and proof that I already applied. Everything went well.

Yes just write a letter stating your passport will be processed passed the 30 days given by them. Include your copy of receipt when applying for passport.
