Hi,

I finally received a request for passport and payment of permanent resident fee.

But they ask in the letter to send only a copy of the bio data page for my passport (I'm the principal applicant) but they ask for the original passport of my wife.

Is that normal? How will they put the visa in my passport if they only request a copy?

I have a EU Passport and am normally allowed to travel to Canada visa free. But my wife has a Indian passport. Is that the reason?

Has the passport request procedure changed?

What does it mean if they only request a copy of the principal applicants passport?

Re: Passport request Received - Requested to send only COPY for Principal applicant

Rocket

You've answered your own question!!!!!

Visas are no longer affixed to passports for visa free country citizens. They need copy of your passport so that they can print your COPR as per name on your passport.

Congratulations!!!

Peace!!

Thanks for the reply.

Can you post a official link where this is explained?

I have not heared before that they do it like this.

Since when is it happening like this?

Hmm thats kinda disappointing.

All that fuss and waiting and at the end I won't even receive a fancy Maple Leave sticker in my passport.

I was looking forward to receive a shiny Canada visa in my passport.

Lets hope everything works out fine.
