hi everybody

So my hubby got a passport request today. We applied outside Canada but they processed it in Mississauga bc of the backlog.

So He is currently visiting me so we are gonna send the photocopy of passport and Pr pics to the Ottawa address.

So what happens next? Any timelines? Or things to expect. He’s planning on being here till the summer. So is that going to cause an issue.

Congrats! It’s been taking folks about 3 weeks to receive their passports and COPRs back from Ottawa, they’re pretty backlogged.

Just curious - when was your app received?

Does this mean it’s approved?

Once we get the “Corp” back. What exactly does that mean? Is that the actual permanent residency card? Or is there another step?

Since he is here and not planning on leaving till the summer. Does it mean he is already “landed”?

Application was recienced june 6,2017

Yes, your app is pretty much done.

No, the COPR is not the PR card.

He needs to actually land as a PR by making an appointment at an inland office, flagpoling at the Canada-US border or leaving and returning on an international flight.

By Making an appointment at an inland office is there locations all across Canada. So one in Toronto. And any idea if that is backlogged too?

Has anyone flagpoled at a US border? Is it a seamless thing? You literally cross the border then turn right back and “land”?

No idea specifically about Toronto but it can sometimes take weeks to get an appointment.

People flagpole every day. You go to US CBP, get turned back and return to Canada to land.
