I got my passport request letter after applying for the TRV online. Now they gave me the Ietter to submit my passport. Here are my steps:

1. In the letter, the site canada.ca/submit didn't work so I used this site:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...lication/account/where-submit-passport.html#U
The title is "Where to submit your passport for your online application", which looks right.

2. The closest VAC center is in LA, so I go to this section:

Submit your passport by courier to the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Los Angeles

Canadian Visa Application Centre – Los Angeles
2120 E Grand Avenue Suite 108A
El Segundo, CA, 90245
U.S.A.

You can submit your passport(s) by mail or in person.
With your passport(s), make sure you include:
  • the passport request letter you received from IRCC;
  • any applicable visa application centre (VAC) fees, such as passport transmission fees;
  • full contact information, including email, phone number, and full return address;
  • the VAC consent form (PDF, 25.9 KB); and
  • a pre-paid return courier envelope, if applicable.
Check the website of the Los Angeles VAC for all requirements and more information.

3. Now I go into that link (full link is https://www.csc-cvac.com/en-us/selfservice/cvac_application_processing) which contains the information for sending my passport for my e-application. The title looks right as well: "If you applied online with an e-App, or if you received a request from IRCC to submit your passport to the Visa Office, you can use the VAC to securely send your passport."

4. Now I keep scrolling down to step 3 where it says to fill in the corresponding form:

Temporary Resident Visa (visitor / tourist)
Wait a minute... didn't I just submit a bunch of forms in the e-application? When I look into IMM 5484 I get a huge bunch of new forms that I need to submit, including a printed photos, which I thought I wouldn't need since I have already applied online. Am I supposed to submit all those forms again? This is like re-doing the whole application...

Don't scroll to the end of that page. You'll need to follow the instructions only until the the end of this post:

Passport delivery / e-Application Service:

If you applied online with an e-App, or if you received a request from IRCC to submit your passport to the Visa Office, you can use the VAC to securely send your passport.

Step 1: Bring your passport to the VAC and pay the appropriate fee(s). Please include the letter from IRCC requesting your passport, the VAC Consent Form, and your contact information, specifically your daytime telephone number and email address. You may either bring your passport in-person to the VAC or send it by courier.

The VAC will send your passport to the Visa Office and provide you with a tracking number so you can track where your passport is. The fee for the Passport delivery / e-Application service is $32.27. (Please note that it is not necessary to pay the VAC service charge in addition to this fee.)

Step 2: Decide how you want your passport returned to you. You can choose to retrieve your passport in person or have your passport delivered to you at home. If you choose to have it delivered, you must include a pre-paid Air Waybill when you submit your passport to the VAC.

FedEx Courier fees are offered at preferred rates and can only be paid directly at the VAC (see details below). FedEx prepaid AWBs will NOT be accepted by the VAC. You may also use USPS to mail your passport.

Applications from Canada must include a prepaid DHL or UPS return envelope to have the result package mailed back to Canada.
