Passport request - in time for classes?

Hello,

I received a passport request for my study visa, yay , and I will bring it to the VAC in Bangkok tomorrow. But since my course starts in only 1.5 weeks, I was wondering how long it will take for them to attach the visa and return my passport to me? Can I ask for it to be rushed?

Does anyone know how long it will take to affix the visa to the passport? Days, weeks?
