PASSPORT REQUEST - EMBASSY WILL NOT RENEW - HAVE 10 DAYS LEFT - HELP

You have to contact CBSA and explain that you withdrew your asylum claim and you want your passport back.

are you applying for RTD? if yes, then you just submit a copy of the stamped copy of ur passport and the NOTICE OF SEIZURE that you have received from CBSA when they got your passport, they should have given you a form that confirms the seizure.

They aren’t a protected person

ok now it makes sense, i thought you got PR through refugee in which case it would have been a bad idea to go back to that countries embassy to renew your passport.
 
Same Exact thing happen to me. They ask me to renew my child passport (For PR Application) who is not accepted as refuge because he is from safe country (USA) but my entire family got a Protected Person status. So I did all my effort to get the expired passport with no result. I talked to CIC they told me sense you did all your can do, you do don't have to. however you have to prove that you cant. so i sent all the letters i sent to CBSA and CIC and their responds. I talked to to CIC three month later they told me everything is OK and I don't need to worry. Good Luck and don't panic.
