Hi, I have a question I would appreciate someone more knowledgeable in this area to comment on.

My wife in China just got her passport request (PPR) (yay!) and she is to send in her passport and that of all family members (i.e. dependents). Her daughter is on the application as a dependent, but is currently in Canada with me under a Study Permit visa. Does this mean we should send both passports (mom's and daughter's) independently to the Visa Office (Beijing) where they will both get their own COPR and visa stamps ? My wife could then bring both documents to Canada when she lands. Already I know my step-daughter will have to go to a U.S. border crossing to do her PR landing (presumably with her owner COPR).

Anyone know if this is how it should work?

Thanks for any insight !
All the best to everyone !

1. Send the daughter's passport to the mother. The mother submits both passports. Then she brings both passports when she "lands" and as you know the daughter either flagpoles or makes an appointment to "land" at a local office.

Thanks.

Any reason why we cannot just send my daughter's passport directly from Canada (where she studies) to the Canadian Embassy (with the Application Number clearly marked)? This may save a week of courier time, which is critical now as we hope to get everyone landed by Dec 31 so we might be able to stop paying the hefty International Student Fees.

Thanks again!
