Nope, not gotten it yet (as of starting this thread anyways).

Sooo, my question is, could I start my new job on 'Implied status' when I receive the PPR? as in, mail in the passport to the office, then start my new job, THEN cross the border when I finally receive the passport back??

Any of you peoples have any ideas on this subject?

Cheers

I think you will need a SIN number before you can work in Canada without a work visa. From what I've read you can get that once you land but before you receive the PR card in the mail.

So how about this, I have a SIN number already... AS part of the work permit, and (don't tell anyone) it does not have an expiry date, only problem is it starts with a 9...

Now WHEN i get the PPR I'll forward THAT to my prospective company and wait for further from CIC, but I was curious how that would work...

Hopefully this will resolve itself anyways, but I HAVE a new job lined up, and THEY are just waiting for my PR so that I can start doing training and paying me...

Considering your SIN is only considered temporary if you forwarded it to your new employer you would then have to submit a new number once u land...

Yes, but that is only a small issue right??

It seems like it wouldn't be a huge problem except that technically you'd be considered to working illegally until you land as a PR. Until you land you're unauthorized to work for a new employer other than the one listed on your current work permit.

Chances are it would never be discovered. The new employer may have questions considered you're submitting a temp SIN.
