Hi friends,
Need some clarification pls. I got PT NOI from Ontario on Feb 22rd and submitted my online application on March 2nd. Now that my passport is valid till November 2018, i believe i will have to get it renewed?? Considering i need to have minimum 2 yrs validity as on the date of applying ? Is that so ??
If yes, Can i update my passport details with CIC or OINP once i get my new passport ?? How is that done ?

Any help is appreciated :)

Yes you can update your passport details. I think there is a long time left for your passport to expire. You may land in Canada before that.

Oh.. i read somewhere that 2 yrs validity is required while applying.. that made me ask this question. Nevertheless, thanks for letting me know that I can update my passport details. Appreciate your help ;)

Another question in continuation, as per my marriage certificate, my name has changed (added my husbands surname to my full name). Now should i get my renewed passport (if i renew) with the changed name (i have marriage certificate as proof) or should i continue with the current name? Would the name change impact my profile ?

You can change you name to anything you want. Just make sure all your names are consistent everywhere. Your name sounds Indian and I have heard that having your spouses name in the passport is required to get a PCC. My wife and I got our passports reissued after marriage to add each other's name but my wife didn't change her name or take my surname. We didnt face any issues getting an Indian PCC in London.

Yes I am an Indian .. glad you understoid my point :)
I think i'll renew my passport with my current name (without spouse's surname) .. however i know getting his name added to my passport is mandatory. Thanks a lot :)
