So I’m applying for January 2023 intake course time line till December 2023 but my current passport is expired in October 2023 so just want to know so I need to renew my passport and then apply or should I go ahead apply it anyway. Any help would be appreciated

If you're in India, the Ministry of External Affairs lets you renew your passport up to 1 year from the expiry date. I'd suggest you take an appointment to renew the passport, according to that (day 364 to expiry).
I don’t know how long it takes to renew a passport where you’re from but if it takes more than 2 weeks or so, your timeline might be a bit too tight for the Jan 2023 intake.
If I were in your position I’d apply now. You will only be issued study permit (and by extension, the permits/visas of your dependents if any) for the validity of your current passport though so you will have to apply for an extension at the earliest possible opportunity.
