I had taken IELTS test with my old passport and then got my new passport in tatkal. The new passport no is different and my old passport number is available on new one. Just uploading the new one is enough or anything else also is to be done.

There is no issue here. Passport numbers must be in sequence, meaning if the last digit on previous passport number ended with 1, in new passport it must be 2.
