Passport not stamped for visitor to Canada from India

Hi all,

Finally my mother-in-law entered Canada as a visitor last night. The thing is that her passport was not stamped with anything at all at Toronto. When I asked CBSA at the airport, they said if it is not stamped, it means 6 months allowed.

Is this normal? Would this create an issue at the time of extension of stay later?

It is valid for six months from the date of entry.
