Passport lost, TRV online application in process

Hi,

My mother applied for her visit visa, yesterday she got her passport request. Now she is unable to find her passport, last time she had her passport when she was gave her biometrics.

In this case when you have got your passport request and your passport is lost, what is the procedure ? How to inform CIC, what does CIC do in this regards ?
