Passport in renewal process - Alternatives to submit express entry profile?

My passport is currently being renewed. My old passport expired 2 months ago. My entire profile is ready pending that. Is there something else I can use to submit while waiting for my new passport to be issue? ID card or the last passport? the thing is I don't want to miss the next draw. Is it better to wait otherwise?

If you are the main applicant, you need to enter your valid passport details. Without that you cant enter the pool.
