I want to apply for Federal Skilled category but my passport is getting expired in September 2019. Is there any mandatory requirement that passport should hold a minimum validity before applying? Or if I apply today and renew my passport later?.

You can begin the EE application process with your current passport and provide the details a new passport later on in the process. All you will need to do at that time is notify the review office that you have a new passport and provide the details.
