Hi again,

This board is really helpful, and I'm going to have to call upon you guys for help once more ^_^.

I am applying to sponsor my wife and, based on current processing times, my Canadian passport will expire a few months before when wewill be able to move to Canada. April 2015, to be specific. Should I be worried about this? If so, what can I do to cover myself and reduce problems and delays in case the application processing lasts until after April 2015?

Thanks again guys, really appreciate it!

You shouldn't incur any delays based on YOUR passport since you are the sponsor. As long as your passport is still valid when you submit your application AND when it's time to move back to Canada there is no issue. You could always renew it early to avoid any unforeseen delays (depending on the country where you are now based). It appears you are a Canadian citizen living abroad, if so I would be more concerned with providing CIC with sufficient proof that you will be taking up residence again in Canada ... I'm sure you will find lots on this forum about that kind of scenario. Good luck.

Submit the application, change the passport, get the new passport, inform CIC about the new document, sending them the same photocopies you have attached in the application. That's it.
