Hello,
Has anyone applied to the passport from the US or from outside Canada ? Please share your experience.
Has anyone applied to the passport and got it in less than 15 days ? How did you do it? Anyone from Calgary ?

All US residents need to normally mail to Canada to get the new passport.
Its no different than mailing from US or mailing within Canada.

Is it possible to go to the us as a visitor on a tourist visa and apply to the passport in the us by mail in the us ?

It seems that they are not asking on immigration status hence i dont see a problem in applying for passport from US.
Nowadays it takes 2-3 months hence if your visit visa is not more than 3 months then dont apply from US (you can use citizenship certificate along with your current passport to enter Canada via land).

You are not explaining your situation. I assume that you are outside Canada and planning to travel for oath and you are going to go to US on visit visa. If this is the case then you should apply while in US if you will be in US for more than 3 months or you can apply in Canada and give your friends address to receive passport.
