Hello, and thanks in advance for reading my post. I hope I'm posting in the right forum.
I am applying to sponsor my girlfriend to Canada (under Common-Law partnership, we have lived together for over a year in Hong Kong). I feel confident that our case will be accepted based on the proof we have collected over the past year and a half, but understand that it could take quite a long time for the processing of the application (upwards of 8 months to a year?).
I am thinking to also put in applications for a TRV and Open Work Permit at the same time as the sponsorship application in the hopes she could come to Canada earlier, during the processing of the sponsorship. Does that sound plausible?
In the case that applying for all 3 makes sense, would it be better to apply by mail to have it all packaged together? Or is online application still a viable option.
Any advice on what to do to make the process of being together in Canada easier or quicker would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
