I am a Canadian citizen. Dual citizen USA and Canada.

As my mother is Canadian (I was born in the USA), my citizenship was received from Bill-37 in 2009,
They supposedly made my citizenship retroactive to my birth for what that's worth. Not much I think..
BUT did not include my minor children and Bill C-37 also specifically prevents children of Canadians born abroad from claiming citizenship by birth right .
So I am stuck sponsoring not only the partner the the kids too.
It's a pain.

So now I want to move to Canada with my partner (mother of my kids)... and my kids aged 3 and 5.

Any suggestions pertaining to my situation?

I did read that Canada can be dodgy about incoming children attending school from a woman who was applying for PR....
Is this less an issue for me?, I AM a citizen. I want to make sure that my kids can attend school in Ontario,
Can't my kids go to school while waiting for PR having a Dad who is Canadian?

I live in NY, USA but travel to Canada regularly to work as a a photographer.

Any help Appreciated

The school policy varies from school to school, so if one school says no or asks for international tuition, ask at another, or in another district.

From a very general view, things such as school enrollment and medical insurance are not always available for family members awaiting approval for PR. It varies from Province to Province and as the previous poster said, for school enrollment, it varies by district/individual school. You would need to make inquiries about things depending on where you will live.
