In Winter 2017, I failed two subjects in my last semester. One subject was only taught in 2018 Winter and other one I took in Fall 2017. For a whole year I was a part time student completing my last semester, even college gave me a letter saying that I was completely my last subject and I didn’t had a choice for taking winter 2018 in fall 2017. I was full time before and only got part time to complete my last semester.
I did get my work permit but I’m confused was I allowed to work part time during that time ? Because according to my college and transcript it was completing my last semester and on CIC website they said it’s allowed to work part time if you are part time to complete your last semester. This the link college emailed me and I answered as :
Q1 : Yes
Q2 : No
Q3 : Yes
Q4 : Yes
Q5 : Yes
And this came up
“Based on your answers, you may work off campus without a work permit as long as you:
- have started studying
-do not work more than 20 hours a week during academic sessions
-are a full-time student at your school or you are a part- time student in your last semester
-stay enrolled in an academic
, vocational 3 or professional training 4 program that is 6 months or longer and that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate
-have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)”.
