Hello dear friends,

I received an email to renew or extend the validity of the passports for me and my dependents.

Can you please tell me if this a compulsory or arbitrary action?

Hi Babak,

I have the same issue, they requested for me to renew my passport along with the MR request. The passport should be valid for 1 year from medical exams, at least thats what I understood. I am still waiting for my new passport to arrive because the process takes 2 months in my country
From what I have read in the forum the passport needs to be valid at least 6 months for them to stamp the visa.

It takes 10 days to renew passports in my country but they asked for reason why we are trying to renew it as our passports are valid for the next 13 months. Anyway, thanks for replying.

Then it shouldnt be mandatory. I would suggest to write them an email with your concerns. In my case my passport is expiring before the medical expires.

i have eventually decided to give another try to renew it and if it failed, I would consider writing to the VO.

if they both keep their positions, you can "lost" your bag with passports.. 8)

I had new baby last week in Canada,, Do I have to tell Paris VO office.

The baby is Canadian born and I don't think that might affect the process right

Here is my timeline:

2.We started processing your application on July 23, 2015.
3.Medical results have been received.
4.A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

personally I did not received anything, still waiting for 4th line or PPR since more than three months
Hope everything will be fine , I noticed that my Officer CT didn't do any action this week , may be he/she enjoying vacation and leaving us on stress
please keep us updated as soon as you receive the news ,
See you all in Canada this winter ( I was planning to do landing in August/September , but It seem that it will be very difficult ;D ;D )

8 PPRs received in Iranian spreadsheet this week (mainly IO CC and DL). Aug is usually vacation month in Europe so some of IOs might be on vacation.

Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

We note that your passport or that of your dependant(s) will expire soon. This may affect the validity of your permanent resident visa(s).

We strongly recommend that you have the passport(s) renewed or the validity extended as soon as possible. Once this has been done, please return this letter to us with a photocopy of the biographical pages and the page showing the validity of the passport(s), by e-mail.

I sent them a scan of me and my wife's passport page by email on August 7th. Please help me. Do they want something else or should I send the email again?

Babak, the message in your ECAS is since last Tuesday. As you know ECAS is being updated only on Tuesdays.

With regards to the message in ECAS, I think it just duplicates their request to you via email on 29th. If you already provided them what they requested, you just need to wait for further instructions from them.
